Our ancestors pioneered farming world-class lamb and beef in Maniototo, New Zealand. Today we’re selling it direct to the world.


Our roots go deep in the Maniototo area where our family has farmed for five generations. We’re serious about raising the very best sheep and cattle, and taking the utmost care of the land.


Our ancestor, John William Blakely, opened the first butchery near the Central Otago goldfields in 1870. He then ploughed his profits into buying land in the Maniototo Valley and settled down with his wife to raise a large family and superb sheep.


More than 140 years later we’re still farming in the Maniototo. That’s proof positive that we’re here for the long haul. So when you partner with us, you can count on our long-term commitment – because we’re not going anywhere soon.

Blakely’s butchery still stands


The Butchery once owned by our ancestor, pioneering farmer John William Blakely, still stands. Now it’s part of the Pitches Store boutique hotel, a haven for weary cyclists and walkers traversing the nearby Central Otago Rail Trail.
